Poker – from television to computers

It all started with Steve Lipscomb. He is the spiritual father the great poker online growing. Steve changed the concept of poker with a sigle and subtile gesture: durring one of his television shows he used some small cameras that showed the cards of a player. It was during a game of Poker Hold’Em, a poker version where every player gets two personal cards and can share five community cards.

The result was astonishing. Not only that it increased the audience but also inspired many poker amateurs that could then see for real what happened at the show. This is how Lipscomb managed to change the public oppinion on poker. Therefore, poker was not seen anymore as a game only for pros but also for any person that loved the game and had the desire to play.

After this booming show he considered bringing celebrities in order to raise even higher the popularity of the game. Ben Affleck was one of the many names that were connected to poker tournaments.

Lipscomb said that the celebrities were there to play a game, and to enjoy it. Just pure and plain fun.
“Ben Affleck can’t suddenly compete in an NBA game. But he can play in a WPT event and have a legit shot at winning.” Online Poker nourished from this, and many begginers started to play and earn experience allong with inportant winnings. It all exploded as the online prices reached huge sums and a new concept appeared – online poker millionaire. Today we have more online poker players that the total amount of players that deal in land based casinos.
